Mr. Doug Weisz is a Principal P&C Engineer (Generation) at Beckwith Electric. His responsibilities include working with customers to solve complex generation and power plant related applications and to assist in troubleshooting post event analysis from generator or transformer trips. He also holds the position of Chairman of the Design Review Board for Protection which looks at product enhancements and future designs for Beckwith Electric.

His previous experience includes over 30 years in the Relay Engineering Department at Wisconsin Public Service Corporation in Green Bay, Wisconsin. This experience included extensive protective relaying design work with generators, power plants, substations, transmission lines, distribution systems, and motors. Responsibilities included relay calculations and settings development, fault study calculations, one lines and detailed schematics development, and commissioning. Mr. Weisz also interpreted and developed evaluation spreadsheets for compliance with NERC PRC-019, 024, 025, and 026 standards for Wisconsin Public Service. Additionally, he was involved in the implementation of procedures to comply with NERC PRC-001, PR-002, 004, and 005 standards.

Mr. Weisz received a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology of Rapid City, South Dakota in 1987. He currently holds a Professional Engineer License from the State of Wisconsin.
