Mr. David Aldrich is the Regional Sales & Application Manager for the Central U.S. for Beckwith Electric. David joined Beckwith Electric in 2012 with over 30 years of experience in nearly all aspects of electric power systems. His rich background in power engineering has provided him with the experience to address a broad range of power system and equipment issues.

Prior to joining Beckwith Electric, David was the Regional Sales Manager for QEI, where he oversaw sales territories west of the Mississippi for all their products.

Prior to QEI, David oversaw engineering consulting for substation protection and controls design and SCADA systems with Schneider Engineering, LTD. He was responsible for engineering protection schemes, developing relay programs, construction specifications, project management, SCADA applications, and leading Power Quality Investigation services.

As Vice President with Origin GeoSystems, Inc., David provided electric municipals and cooperatives a “best of breed” Geographic Information System solution. He served a growing client base of over 125 utilities across the US. He also provided training classes on the NESC and distribution design.

David was the Chief System Engineer of a 20,000 customer municipal utility in the Texas Hill Country for 13 years. There he managed the engineering department and was also responsible for rates and tariffs, purchased power and fuel, AMI, power quality, SCADA, GIS, demand side management, distribution automation, system planning, energy efficiency programs, supply chain, and outage management systems.

David spent 13 years with Texas Power and Light/TU Electric (now Oncor) in Dallas and Central Texas. While at TU Electric he managed dozens of T&D projects, and other engineers and technicians performing load forecasting, circuit analysis, system planning, project design, cost estimating, plant accounting, surveying, customer contact, and more. He was also a manager in TU Electric’s Distribution Information Systems and oversaw the design and development of a new corporate GIS. In the Rates and Economic Research Department of TXU, David performed special studies and analysis of rate designs, evaluations of tariffs, and statistical analysis of load research results.

Mr. Aldrich has published several papers and made presentations at various conferences related to electric power system planning and operation and has been very active in industry organizations serving as president of the local chapters of IEEE-PES and TSPE and contributed through executive and committee responsibilities.
