  • Q. How do I register for the Protection & Control Seminar?

    • A. You can register online up until the registration deadline. We do not offer on-site registration.

  • Q. What are the payment options?

    • A. Our online registration system accepts payment via credit card. If you require payment via a check or invoice, please select "Other Payment Options" during registration. Payment must be received by Beckwith Electric prior to the start of the seminar.

  • Q. How can I get a receipt for my registration payment?

    • A. Your registration confirmation email includes the amount paid and acts as your receipt. If your accounting department requires something additional, contact us online or call 727.544.2326 and ask for the Protection & Control Seminar Administrator.

ATTENDEE GUESTS

  • Q. Which events can my guests attend with me?

    • A. Your guests can attend all evening activities and these do not require a "Companion Guest Pass."

  • Q. Can my guests come to breakfast and lunch with me?

    • A. No, the breakfast and lunch are optimized for the number of registered seminar attendees only. If you plan on traveling with a family member, spouse or significant other, each guest needs to purchase a "Companion Guest Pass” if planning to attend breakfast and lunch.

  • Q. Can my guests attend sessions with me?

    • A. No, your registration allows for only you to attend sessions. A companion guest pass does not include access to the seminar sessions and cannot be purchased for a business colleague(s).

  • Q. How much does the Companion Guest Pass cost?

    • A. The Companion Guest Pass is $175 and includes breakfast and lunch for each day of the seminar, plus all evening activities.

CANCELLATIONS & SUBSTITUTIONS

  • Q. Are substitutions permitted?

    • A. Yes. If you would like to substitute one attendee for another, contact us online or call 727.544.2326 and ask for the Protection & Control Seminar Administrator.

CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS (CEUs) or PDHs

  • Q. What is a CEU?

    • A. The Continuing Education Unit (CEU) is a currency that measures a person's participation in a formal, non-credit continuing education program, such as a workshop, seminar, tutorial, or self-study course. Courses approved by IEEE for awarding CEUs meet strict requirements for course exercises, assessments, and evaluations.

  • Q. What is a PDH?

    • A. The Professional Development Hour (PDH) is a currency that measures a person's participation in a formal, non-credit continuing education program, such as a workshop, seminar, tutorial, and self-study course. It also measures non-formal learning events such as attending speaker events, learning tours, and webinars.

  • Q. Can CEUs be converted into PDHs?

    • A. Yes, CEUs can be readily translated into PDHs (1 CEU = 10 PDHs).

  • Q. How do I receive Continuing Education Units (CEUs) or Professional Development Hours (PDHs)?

    • A. If you want to receive CEUs or PDHs, please let us know on your online registration form or contact us online (Before the start of the seminar) to let us know.

  • Q. How can I find out what my state's continuing education requirements for license renewal are?

  • Q. After completion of the course, how soon are the CEU certificates sent to the participants, and how are they transmitted?

    • A. CEU certificates are emailed direct from IEEE to attendees usually within 15 business days after the end of the seminar.

DRESS CODE

  • Q. What is the dress code?

    • A. There is no formal dress code for the seminar. We suggest business casual for all events. Don't forget swim attire for beach volleyball! Wear what makes you comfortable!

  • Q. Who do I contact if I need help before the start of the Protection & Control Seminar?

    • A. Contact us online or call 727.544.2326 and ask for the Protection & Control Seminar Administrator.

  • Q. Who do I contact if I need help during the Protection & Control Seminar?

    • A. At the seminar, the Help Desk will be open 7 AM-5 PM on Monday in front of the Hunter Ballroom. Tuesday through Thursday, the Help Desk will be open 7:30 AM-5 PM. Or you can contact us online.

MEALS

  • Q. What meals are included with my seminar registration?

    • A. Four breakfasts and lunches (Monday-Thursday) are included in your registration. On Tuesday and Wednesday, we also have food and beverages at our evening receptions.

  • Q. When and where do I pick up my badge and seminar materials?

    • A. Please check-in for the seminar and pick-up your badge and seminar materials sometime between 7 PM-8 PM on Sunday, or 7 AM-8 AM on Monday, at the Beckwith Electric Help Desk.

  • Q. Where does the Protection & Control Seminar take place?

    • A. Sandpearl Resort, 500 Mandalay Avenue, Clearwater Beach, FL 33767

  • Q. The Protection & Control Seminar hotel block is full (or full on some days) and I cannot get the rate for my entire stay, what can I do?

    • A. Each year, our room block does fill up and the hotel sells out. For the best opportunity, secure your hotel reservation as early as possible. If the hotel's reservation website shows no availability of the rate, be sure to call the hotel direct. The hotel can often help with securing the rate on days where the rate is still available.

  • Q. Is there Wireless Internet Access at the Sandpearl Resort?

    • A. Complimentary wifi access is provided to seminar attendees who are staying at the Sandpearl Resort. There is also wireless access for all attendees available in public areas of the Sandpearl Resort.

TRANSPORTATION & PARKING

  • Q. Do I make my own travel arrangements to attend the Protection & Control Seminar?

    • A. Yes. Each attendee is responsible for making their own hotel and travel arrangements. Click here for information on the hotel, area airports, and ground transportation options.

    Q. How can I get from the airport to the conference hotel?

    • A. The Sandpearl Resort is convenient to the services of Tampa International Airport/TPA (21 miles/33 mins) and St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport/PIE (12 miles/22 mins). Recommended transportation is available through Super Shuttle (800-258-3826). Estimated cost is $28 one-way. Ground transportation from all airports to Sandpearl is available via limousine, shuttle van, bus charter, taxi ($55+ one-way), sedan service and car rental.

  • Q. Do I need to rent a car?

    • A. We do not recommend that you rent a car. Once you get to the hotel, everything is in close walking distance.

  • Q. How much is parking at the Sandpearl Resort?

    • A. Hotel parking is available on a per car, per night charge: $25 (Valet Only)
      Daily Event Valet Parking (No Overnight): $15

  • Q. Are there other parking options near the Sandpearl Resort?

  • Not staying at the Sandpearl Resort? North Beach Parking Plaza is a covered parking garage only a block away from the Sandpearl Resort.
