Electric Introduces the M-2980 CAMP™ Utilinet® Remote Communication
Module

announces the introduction of the M-2980 CAMP™ Utilinet® Remote
Communication Module.
The M-2980 provides:
SECURITY
"Heart-Beat Pulse" detection for automation applications requiring/producing
this signal to verify integrity of SCADA communications network.
RELIABILITY
Default to automatic operation on loss of communications - either loss
of SCADA communications or local radio communications. Ensures continuation
of Volt/VAr management in the event of communications system crash.
FLEXIBILITY
Utilizes the advanced benefits of autodaptive capacitor control and can
be bypassed controlled for automation application programs, or bypass
controlled for emergency system occurrences or conditions.
SIMPLE IMPLEMENTATION
Direct DNP 3.0 slave - works with any SCADA Master supporting DNP 3.0.
IMPROVES ASSET AVAILABILITY
Unsolicited reporting (report-by-exception) of conditions causing unbalance
in the neutral (capacitor can failure or blown fuse).
EASILY INTEGRATES WITH EXISTING NETWORK
Compatible with any existing Metricom-Utilinet-Atos/CellNet self-healing
mesh network without conflict, even if used for different applications
(i.e. AMR and Capacitor control) within the same network.
