FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE City of Tacoma Selects Beckwith Static Excitation System April 5, 2004 - Beckwith Electric Company will provide a Static Excitation System to the City of Tacoma (Washington) Department of Public Utilitiesa municipal utility in the Pacific Northwest. This system will be used for the Mayfield Unit 41 hydro-electric generator excitation upgrade project. The Beckwith Electric contract includes the supply of the RAV 1111 Static Excitation System with advanced digital control and redundant PLCs for the 47 MW generating unit, plus spare parts, start-up services and field training. The Static Excitation System is an offering brought about by Beckwith Electric Company's recent strategic alliance partnership with SEPAC Corporation, "A Beckwith Electric Solutions Partner", for the U.S. and Canada. The Static Excitation Systems are part of Beckwith Electric's System Solutions offering and can be used with all hydro, thermal, utility, non-utility and industrial generators with excitation ratings available up to 1400 volts and 10,000 amps. # # # For more information: |
