FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Industry Veteran Jon Gardell Joins Beckwith Electric as Manager of Beckwith Systems Engineering (BSE)
In his new position at Beckwith Electric, Mr. Gardell will lead projects involving consulting engineering services, consisting of: training, engineering studies, analysis and the specification, design, and supply of system solutions using both Beckwith products and the products of other companies. He also represents Beckwith Electric by participating in Industry Standards activities. Mr. Gardell comes to Beckwith Electric from Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL), where he was an Industrial Field Application Engineer. In this position, he had the responsibility of helping customers with proper SEL product applications, especially in the area of motor, generator, and plant facility protection. This task was accomplished by providing knowledge of the products and the protected equipment, site visits, demonstrations, training, and telephone support to the customers. Additionally, he provided SEL support through contribution to product specification, application, industry representation, authoring and presenting papers, seminars, internal training, and testing. Previously, Mr. Gardell was a Senior Engineering Specialist with Factory Mutual Global. His responsibilities included working with the Field Loss Prevention Specialists, insurance company personnel and insured companies on electrical equipment and system issues. He helped lead the Electrical Loss Prevention Specialists Team on electrical inspection, engineering, loss prevention and investigation. In addition, he provided training, mentoring and coaching as appropriate to this team. Prior to joining Factory Mutual Global, Mr. Gardell worked for General Electric for seven years in the Power Systems Engineering Department. Jon worked in Generation Product Application Engineering as a Consulting Engineer and as the Group Technical Leader. His activities included supporting both GE product departments and external customers in the Generation Product and System Application areas. In addition, Mr. Gardell worked for the American Electric Power Service
Corporation for nine years. Jon worked mainly in the area of major electrical
equipment in the power plants with a focus on rotating machinery. Mark Dixon, Beckwith Electric's Marketing Manager, stated, "For
