1967 - Today

Beckwith Electric Co., Inc. was incorporated in Illinois on May 8, 1967 by Robert W. Beckwith for the purpose of furnishing equipment and service to the electric utility industry. The company is a privately held corporation and owned by the Beckwith family.

May 8, 1967 Beckwith Electric Co., Inc
1972 First M-0067 Analog Tapchanger Control introduced in August.
1974 Robert Beckwith chooses a 5-acre site in Largo, Florida, on which to build a 6,000 square foot building.
1977 First Synchronizing (M-0188) unit was introduced, followed closely by the second generation (M-0193).
1981 The third generation of Synchronizing (M-0194) was introduced.
1982 The building is expanded to 12,000 square feet.
1987 The company purchases a 29,000 square foot building on 5 acres located across the street.
1991 The first Digital relay (M-0420) was shipped on February 14.
1992

The first PRIDE relay was introduced in May.
In October, a tornado destroys the facility.
The company recovers from the destruction of the tornado by leasing space in a temporary facility.

1993

The first Digital Tapchanger Control (M-2001) was introduced in February.
In November, the company resumes normal operations in a 48,320 square foot building.

1995 The first IPS relay was introduced in February.
1998 First of the Autodaptive line (M-2501) introduced in April.
2000 Beckwith Electric expands adding 7000 square feet of office, lab, and manufacturing space.
2002 Wireless communications products launched.
Today Beckwith Electric Co. continues to grow and build on Beckwith's leadership in the power marketplace.
