Beckwith Electric Research

Originally printed in June 2000.

We have recently established BECKWITH ELECTRIC RESEARCH (BER) as a wholly-owned, not-for-profit division of Beckwith Electric Company for work at the forefront of present-day engineering and physics and beyond. As an example of this effort, Drew Craig and I have applied principles of engineering to explain the transmutation of nitrogen 14 into carbon 14. Our model postulates that the difference between a proton and a neutron is the energy level and not a difference in an electron. By adding energy to one proton in the nucleus, we believe N14 can be transmuted into C14. We go on to show that many years later, C14 will decay into N14 and not into C12 as some authors believe. A small difference in our calculated overall energy balance may be explained by a burst of neutrinos emitted as the C14 atoms decay.

We point out the possibility that C14 is continually being produced by lightning which furnishes the energy for the N14 to C14 transmutation.
