Summary
Assure products are operating properly when shipped to customers. Perform calibration, hypot, transient and final test routines. Also perform one or a combination of the following on solid state or digital electronic equipment; installing, repairing, or troubleshooting electronic assemblies to the component level.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform routine tests on products manufactured for sale.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electronic assemblies that do not conform to specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of test data and test time.
  • Actively support our continuous improvement quality program by providing feedback and recommendation on activities centered around work station.
  • Access product information from MIS terminal and run ATS programs and program EEPROMS.

Education & Experience

  • AA degree in electronics or equivalent.
  • Two years experience in a production test environment.
  • Hand soldering experience is required.
  • Working knowledge of test equipment (meters, scopes, power supplies) and tools.
  • Ability to isolate faults accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Trained in troubleshooting solid state and digital circuits to the component level.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting digital and active filter circuits at production level.
  • Background in general electronics and technical repair.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Summary
Respond to customer telephone inquiries or complaints regarding standard products. Finding resolutions through exchange, troubleshooting, enhancements, modifications, maintenance and repair on standard products. Analyze individual solutions and take appropriate action to ensure that customer needs are met. Coordinate activities with internal company departments to resolve problems and provide necessary follow up. Provide quotations as required.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Must have a command of circuit theory and be able to trace signals through sophisticated digital control circuitry controlled by embedded microprocessors.
  • Gathers and analyzes data pertaining to returned products. Identifies trends, prepares reports, including charts and graphs, and presents recommendations for action plans to management.
  • Analyzes field returns for prompt, efficient resolution. Respond to general inquiries relating to operation of Beckwith Products.
  • Update, modify, overhaul, repair, troubleshoot a wide range of different product types, calibrate and test units in accordance with established test routines and established specifications. Complete the Customer Service Repair Report identifying pertinent information relating to Reported Problem, Action Taken to Repair the Product, and provide possible scenarios for Root Cause.
  • Provide a high level of attention to detail and careful record keeping.
  • Ability to work under pressure of deadlines.
  • Maintain product update file.
  • Maintain customer contact file.
  • Respond to complaints or questions regarding test procedures instruction manual information, product failure or malfunction etc.
  • Determines the most efficient, expeditious manner for restoration of service; exercises judgment in loaning, replacing and/or repairing units.
  • Quote cost estimates for repair, service, replacement, enhancements or modifications.
  • First in line of response to emergency repairs, phone calls, customer help.
  • Comply with all work rules, including but not limited to, the Company's safety and attendance policies.
  • May travel to customer location to solve problem, answer questions, demonstrate product and make changes to product.
  • Provide guidance to technicians in learning how to test various product tests and/or troubleshoot said products.
  • Assist other departments such as engineering, inspection and quality assurance, with testing or installing a mod, performing inspection tests or other functions.
  • Assist in design qualifications test.

Education & Experience

  • AA/AS degree in electronic technology. 5+ years in troubleshooting and repair of highly sophisticated electronic equipment which ranges from precise analog instrumentation equipment to very modern digital electronic equipment with built in digital signal processing and intense embedded firmware. 1-2 years of Beckwith product knowledge; 1-2 years experience in customer assistance and problem resolution.
  • General knowledge of electronic technology and customer relation skills and problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, assembly and schematic drawings and interpret special instructions regarding work to be done as required by customer.
  • Ability to schedule and prioritize work.
  • Working knowledge of Beckwith Products.
  • General electronics and technical repair background and apply that background to Beckwith Product base.
  • Ability to use a variety of meters, scopes and test equipment, and small hand tools.
  • Computer skills using word processing and spreadsheets on a PC using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
