Assembler PCB

The following represent brief/broad descriptions. It is not intended, nor should it be construed, to represent a comprehensive and/or exhaustive description of all duties/responsibilities and requisite skills associated with the position.

Performs a variety of tasks involved in the assembly of electronic components, subassemblies, products, or systems. Works fairly independently or under minimal supervision of the Group Leader. Perform duties in accordance with Manufacturing Department/ISO 9000 written procedures.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Performs a variety of tasks involved in the assembly of electronic components, subassemblies, products, or systems by performing the following duties as required.
  • Reads work orders, follow production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
  • Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other.
  • Crimps, solders, or performs similar mechanical operations to join or secure parts in place per IPC 610C Class II, J-Standard –001C.
  • Mounts assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets, on chassis' or panels.
  • Connects component lead wires to printed circuit board or routes and connects wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.
  • Performs intermediate assembly tasks, such as conformal coating parts and assemblies.
  • Adjusts or trims materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics
  • Performs on-line inspection to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards. Identify workmanship defects.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Comply with all work rules, including but not limited to, the Company's safety and attendance policies.
  • Work overtime as needed.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • May assist with material handling function.
  • May assist with Final Assembly, Test, and Production Control functions as needed.
  • Installs finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets.
  • Assembles and attaches hardware, such as caps, clamps, knobs, and switches, to assemblies.
  • Tends machines that press or shape component parts.
  • May set up and prepare workstations.

Education & Experience:

  • No formal education is required. One-year experience soldering and/or electromechanical assembly of PC boards including the following skills is required.
  • Ability to identify electronic and mechanical components (i.e.: resistor color codes and mechanical hardware, etc.)
  • Ability to interpret assembly blueprints and drawings.
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly process documentation.
  • Precision soldering to the IPC-A-610C
  • Knowledge of surface mount assembly and rework may be required.

Electronic Final Assembler

SUMMARY

Performs a variety of tasks involved in the assembly of electronic components, subassemblies, products, or systems. Has knowledge of Electronic Manufacturing, good soldering skills and point-to-point wiring. Should have box building experience. Works fairly independently or under minimal supervision of the Group Leader. Perform duties in accordance with Manufacturing Department/ISO 9001 written procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Performs a variety of tasks involved in the assembly of electronic components, subassemblies, products, or systems by performing the following duties as required.

Senior Buyer

SUMMARY

The Senior Buyer manages and coordinates the activities purchasing electronic components, mechanical parts, raw materials, equipment, machinery, and supplies for organization. Obtains necessary purchases at lowest cost consistent with approved quality and delivery dates. Develops policies, procedures and objectives for the operation of the purchasing program in accordance with corporate objectives. Recommends improvements in overall purchasing program which will advance the interests of the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops and oversees company-wide policies and procedures for the purchase of goods and services.
  • Handles procurements for build-to-print-parts after determining price and availability through formal and informal requests for quotes of components used to build product.
  • Identifies and maintains a list of additional or substitute suppliers of goods and services purchased by the company.
  • Negotiates with suppliers on all conflicts or questions concerning prices, delivery dates and time specifications. Verifies receipt of materials and/or services and approves invoices for payment as required.
  • Approves all purchases within a pre-determined limit.
  • Arranges for disposal of surplus materials.
  • Maintains purchasing records for the company.
  • Performs internal company audits in accordance with ISO-9000 standards.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare quotes, formal and informal, for proposals.
  • Enter purchase orders into computer system.
  • Prepare weekly reports of orders placed for inventory, receipts and commitments monthly.
  • Generate weekly reports of positive and negative variances.

EQUIPMENT/TOOLS:

  • PC Computer; calculator; printer; copier; FAX; telephone.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Four year college or university degree in business or material management or equivalent experience. Five plus years in a manufacturing environment with progressive responsibility.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Ability to identify electronic and mechanical components; familiarity with purchasing and inventory control procedure in a manufacturing environment; familiarity with a fully integrated computing system; ability to supervise others.
  • Negotiating and problem solving skills.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Ability to use computer for on-line system and for spreadsheet analysis.
