Galanos,
Manager of Engineering
John Galanos has more than 17 years experience in the electrical
engineering industry and has been with Beckwith Electric Company since
1996. As Manager of Engineering, John is responsible for managing all
facets of our engineering operations, including Product Development &
Support, Engineering Lab, Product Quality Validation and Technical Writing.
John manages the engineering team and support staff for the support and
upgrade of controls, protective relays and synchronizing products, provides
technical support for application issues, and designs product modifications.
He also supports research and development projects and contributes technical
support to the production floor. John has responsibility over the Engineering
Lab and Product Quality Validation, and oversees verification and validation
of company products to ensure compliance with product specifications,
IEEE, IEC, ANSI, UL, CSA and CE standards. John also oversees publication
of the company's technical instruction manuals and product specifications,
technical papers and trademark materials.
Prior to joining Beckwith Electric Company, John held positions as a
development engineer at Lockheed Martin Specialty Components, Inc., and
as a field specialist at Florida Power & Light Company. He received
an Honorable Discharge from the United States Marine Corps in 1985, earned
a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University
of Florida in 1989 and a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1995. John is a member of IEEE
and a community volunteer.
